This year, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and IFPRI's Policy Research and Strategy Support Program (PRSSP) launched the “Healthy Food, Bright Future” youth essay contest, where young people ages 12-18 were invited to submit essays on healthy food: what is it, how do we get it, and why does it matter. In the context of a changing global landscape, marked by a rising double burden of malnutrition, food safety issues, and more, discussions on healthy diets and safe food are important now more than ever.
We had an overwhelming response, with over 300 submissions nationwide. We are delighted to announce the winners of the “Healthy Food, Bright Future” essay contest, who will join us for the Launch of the Feed the Future Bangladesh Country Plan in Dhaka this month.*
