Food safety is a critical aspect of improving nutrition in Bangladesh, yet it requires much greater attention. To this end, the CGIAR Research Program on Agriculture for Health and Nutrition (A4NH) established a food safety flagship, which aims to explore technological and institutional solutions and appropriate policy and regulatory options to improve food safety for all, in line with country priorities. In late October 2019, A4NH’s food safety flagship and IFPRI are organizing a dissemination workshop hosted by IFPRI, and co-organized by Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA), International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), and Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI), which will review results on the hazard patterns in urban and rural areas and the differences between modern and traditional retail markets.
