Researchers from the USAID-funded Policy Research and Strategy Support Project (PRSSP), implemented by IFPRI, designed the Bangladesh Integrated Household Survey (BIHS)–the most comprehensive, nationally representative rural household survey to date in the country. Two panel survey rounds of the BIHS have been conducted—the baseline in 2012 and midline in 2015—which tracks the same set of rural households over time.
Now, the IFPRI-PRSSP team is preparing to launch the BIHS third round survey across the country. The BIHS third round survey will serve as the endline for the USAID Feed the Future (FTF) program, assessing the population-level performance of the FTF program, and serve as the baseline for the U.S. Global Food Security Strategy (GFSS). The six-week intensive training will coach 150 survey enumerators, supervisors, and coordinators on the survey objectives, the entire questionnaire, and methods of interviewing. Classroom training will be complemented by field-level pre-testing.
