On December 3, 2017, IFPRI and a local survey firm Data Analysis and Technical Assistance (DATA) initiated the endline survey enumerator training for the Ministry of Agriculture's "Agriculture, Nutrition, and Gender Linkages" (ANGeL) project. The one-month long training will review the endline survey questionnaire, which includes modules on household demographics, agriculture production practices, food consumption, nutrition, shocks and social protection, employment, mobility, perception of training, gender dynamics and attitudes, and other areas. The endline survey will cover 4,000 farm households in 16 districts across rural Bangladesh from December 30, 2017 to March 15, 2018.
Using data collected from the endline survey, IFPRI researchers will compare the impact of five combinations of three interventions - agriculture production, nutrition knowledge, and gender sensitization - from before the interventions (baseline) to after the interventions. Using the ANGeL data, the Ministry of Agriculture plans to identify and scale up the most effective interventions into a national program that seeks to strengthen the agriculture-nutrition-gender nexus.
