In early July, IFPRI is organizing a workshop on "Food Systems for Healthier Diets," together with CGIAR Research Program Agriculture for Nutrition and Health (A4NH) and Wageningen University in the Netherlands. The purpose of the workshop is to engage policymakers, development partners, UN agencies, civil society organisations, academia, and private sector to discuss how food systems can be strengthened in Bangladesh to improve diet quality, and how stakeholders can work together in achieving this objective.
The three-day workshop will review the context of food systems and diets in Bangladesh, efficiency and effectiveness of food value chains, and consumer choice and demand in the country. In the following days of the workshop, participants will discuss and strategize how food systems for healthier diets fit into the Bangladesh development strategy and identify research priorities.
IFPRI will publish more information about the upcoming workshop as the date draws closer.
