Women are key to the food system, but historically have been disempowered in Bangladesh. From November 14–28, 2016, IFPRI (under the auspices of the ANGeL Project), Helen Keller International (HKI), the Agricultural Policy Support Unit, and government officials conducted a training of trainers (TOT) on gender sensitization. Activities focused on challenging gender norms, building equality, and developing constructive communication skills.
Between December 2016 and March 2017, field-level gender trainings will be underway, reaching 625 farming families (about 1,250 individuals) across rural Bangladesh.
